I'm on a mexican radio
I wish I was in Tiajuana
Eating barbequed iguana
I'd take requests on the telephone
I'm on a wavelength far from home
I feel a hot wind on my shoulder
I dial it in from south of the border
I hear the talking of the DJ
Can't understand just what does he say?
I'm on a mexican radio
Comments of the Week
Lynn W Gardner on Payola, gatekeepers and Top40 were way worse than social media: Radio, when it was a big deal to be up after 10PM when all the local low wattage AM stations went dark and you could pick up WLS out of Chicago on the AM radio in your 67 Corvair.
Emeric Marc on the LinkedIn edition of Payola, gatekeepers and Top40 were way worse than social media: So true. The music options today are endless, making it an exciting time to explore new sounds.
I grew up on the east end of Long Island, New York, which is closer as the crow flies to New England than New York City. On clear nights we’d listen to WPLR out of New Haven, playing the Talking Heads and Blondie and David Bowie and the Ramones…an entirely different sonic smorgasbord than the Top 40 radio on the New York City stations. Driving old hand-me-down cars late into the night listening to a radio station playing in another state across the waters of Long Island Sound…

Mike Johnston at The Online Photographer wrote up my Pentax Forums article The New Golden Age of Black & White and had some very kind things to say: Monochrome Sensor versus Color Files Converted-Unless you frequent the Pentax Forums, you might not have seen this link. TOP reader Chris Feola emailed it to me the other day: He's an excellent writer and has original things to say. Mike goes on to discuss his own adventures with a Sigma fp digicam he had converted to black & white. (There are shops that will remove a digicam’s Bayer array for $1,000-$2,000; you have to supply the camera.) The article and The Online Photographer are both highly recommended; The Online Photographer is on my daily reading list.
Easter Eggs
My brain is a peculiar place; it likes to play word association, and then play back songs with those words. Here are the songs playing in my mind as I wrote these articles.
