We’re in the middle of World Cup season here in Tejas, with games being played just down the road in the stadium that normally hosts the Dallas Cowboys for that other brand of football. The news is full of stories of soccer fans from all over the world zooming across North America from game to game. This morning a camera crew was following a busload of Japanese fans and their Texan friends headed to Mexico City for a game. That’s Tejas! Where 1,100 miles is considered an easy drive.

All that reminds me of working in Mexico City for El Universal newspaper. I took pictures while I was there, natch.
